EVENFLO CANADA ANNOUNCES INSTRUCTIONS FOR PORTABOUT® INFANT CAR SEAT CONVENIENCE BASE
Evenflo Canada Inc. is announcing a public notice to owners of all Evenflo PortAbout® infant car seats. Evenflo has discovered that the Universal Anchorage System (UAS) belt on some PortAbout® convenience bases was misrouted by the factory, which may possibly lead to loose installations in some vehicles.
The PortAbout® car seats are navy, silver or taupe plastic with seat pads of various colors and patterns. "Evenflo PortAbout" is written on the front of the convenience base. The seats have model numbers beginning with 374, 375, 386, 544, 546, 575, 576, 578 or 582, which can be found on a labels underneath the car seat and the convenience base. This public notice affects only units built between September 1, 2002 and September 12, 2003.
Evenflo will provide consumers a free, easy-to-follow instruction sheet to allow re-routing of the UAS belt. The re-routing will take less than 30 seconds and no tools are required.
